Ok for example, i don't want a page at the top of my site where the parent page menus are, showing TOS.

A small txt at the bottom of the site showing "Legal Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service" that is totally fine; but a big TOS page in the menu at the top of the site ? I don't really like that, and i am pretty sure many feel the same way as i do Cry Seems a wastage of prime retail estate.

The profile page already can link the Term of Service last agreed upon with date included. In addition, you can also further specify to show the TOS in either Profile, Settings, Tools or Dashboard as well (this one i feel should also be set to optional as well. Seems a bit unecessary when profile already has one linked by default).

Also when you go to a page or comments, it will also display the pop up. This i am totally okay with, and i really like how the TOS appears for the specific pages/comments/registration before the user can proceed.

The only major thing i don't really see the need for is the parent page for TOS to show at the top menu. At the very least could that be set as an optional thing rather than compulsory ? Some may like that, but the majority like me may be more comfortable with small text showing right at the bottom of the website.

Because after all, you can already type in the PP and TOS in a Non menu parent page, and that gets shown for specific pages and comments.

I hope i am making sense here :}

I found a solution.

Apparently you can change your website main menu by going to

Apperances > Menu

Then create your own custom menu.

So although you have to create the TOS page, you do not have to show it all in your menu.

Managing the menu this way however breaks support for another plugin called "Ambrosite Unlink Parent Pages". So for parents you don't want to be clickable, you need to add a # into custom links for menu instead of adding the parent page for sub pages if you do not want the parent pages to go to an empty page. But this is a separate issue althogether, but thought i should mention anyway.

In either case, i am not using the TOS page which i removed from menu.

The one i am using, is the one that is linked in the dashboard, in profiles as well as the pop ups that appear when trying to comment, register or access specific pages set to require accepting tos/pp.

So my suggestion is still relevant that the creation of a tos page is kinda irrelevant or should at least be optional for those that don't wish to have it on the site menu by default.

An option to add TOS/PP/Legal disclaimer as small txt page links at the bottom of the site however would be much more useful Wink

From my testing,

I found that you do not need to create a custom page, and link terms of use to it.

Terms of use is still linked in

1. your profile (alternatively you enabled to show elsewhere such as in dashboard/toolbox or where ever you had assigned it)

sadly though, when you register, the tos link will not appear, as it does require that you link the tos to a page. And when people click tos it will go to that page.

So although you don't need a tos page, you actually need it, otherwise the tos plugin only half works Cry
