Though I have been using Formidable Pro at melfi-alacarte.com for several weeks, suddenly yesterday I started getting inundated with spam 'reviews' – over 100 a day. I have Akisment activated and Captcha, but it still keeps coming. The irony is that I only activated Akisment on Sunday, so could it be that? Not sure if this a formidable thing or not but any guidance is appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have a captcha field in your form and the box checked under "Advanced Form Options" to use Akismet? I would be very surprised if you are gettings this much spam with both spam options in place. I can't see your contact form because it is limited to logged-in users.

Hello Steph – Sorry abou the limited to logged-in users; I just unchecked that options so you should be able to see it now. There are two forms actually – contact us and student reviews (under About Us). I do have the Akismet box checked in "Advanced Form Options" and also have Captcha fields on both forms. Despite that and also the 'logged-in users' option, I am still getting hammered with spam. Hope you can help though maybe it is a server thing?

An update: the spam is coming mostly in through the student reviews form (found under about us : http://www.melfi-alacarte.com/…..t-reviews/ ) so I had to actually remove the form from the page for now. I am getting about 20 spam entries/hour. Like the contact form ( http://www.melfi-alacarte.com/contact/ ), I had captcha and also akismet activated, so I don't know what is the problem. Update on the update: now spam entries are coming in through the contact form. I will need to disable that form also.

Kathy, I apologize, but I have no idea what to tell you. There shouldn't be any way you should be getting that much spam with both of those preventions in place. And you say you were still getting it when it was set to logged-in users only? It sounds like manual spam. Sorry I can't be of much help!
