I am considering this plug-in and the pro version, but I'd like to find out if it will accomplish what I am looking for …

I want to post a table that has a list of names in one column, then 6 more columns each with a check box – I want someone to be able to check off the boxes, then "submit" or "save" and their checkmarks are retained for the next time they, or someone else, comes to that page/post. 

The purpose of the table is to track when a student's homework has been checked – there will be 6 sets of homework and the teachers need to be able to track when they've checked the homework of a certain student for a certain week. 

Can this be accomplished with Formidable pro?

It sounds like this would be doable, but there are a few things that may prevent this from working the way you would like. Would it work to manually add a row of check boxes for each student? Or would this need to be dynamic? If it doesn't need to be dynamic, this would work without a problem. You would need to edit the customizable HTML to get it to look pretty the way you would like, but I can give you the changes to make to help it look pretty in the right format.
