Can a function be added to the plugin to allow a default message to be displayed if none of the options are met in a custom display?

I have a display and when none of the options are met I get a blank custom display and I would like to be able to write (in a rich text editor) a default message to display if no options are met. (FYI – the if functions do not help the particular display)

With the way the plugin is currently operatiing I have some blank pages & widgets and that is not preferred.
