Hi, I really like the looks of your widget!  Unfortunately I'm running into issues with the displaying of a widget on the front page.  My front page is the blog (as opposed to a page).  Whether I use the hide or show functionality, selecting the front page option, both don't seem to get the widget displayed.  I can select blog page and that works, but then it shows it on each blog post.

I'm running the latest version of wordpress.  Can you help?

Thanks, Stephen

This is working for me to select "Show on Checked" and check only the box for "Blog Page" under "Miscellaneous". What are your settings?

Hi Steph…

I have a bilingual site –English/Spanish and need to display an email subscription form for English speakers and one for Spanish speakers on respective English and Spanish pages. The subscription code is located in a text widget, in a sidebar.

I've created two pages: 'Home & Blog' and 'Inicio y blog'.

In Settings > Reading I've set the front page to 'static' and selected 'Home & Blog' as the page to display blog posts for English speakers. On this page there is a language link to 'Inicio y blog' for Spanish speakers which also displays the sme blog posts but in Spanish, of course.

I then go to 'Appearance > Widgets' and open the text widget with English language subscription code. Under the 'Display Widgets' section,  the 'Show/hide Widget' is set to 'Hide on Checked'.

Under Pages, I select the checkbox for 'Inicio y blog'  and save.

Expecting otherwise, when navigating to  the 'Inicio y blog' page the subscribe option for English speakers is still visible.

Going back to 'Appearace > Widgets > Text widget with subscription code', checking 'Blog' under the Miscellaneous section, saving, then navigating again to 'Inicio y Blog' the widget is now hidden,  but also on the English 'Home & Blog' page as well.

Why is the text widget not being hidden when I check the 'Inicio y blog' under pages?

Any ideas?

The website I'm working on is: http://www.origamispirit.com

Thanks so much for your time

If your page is a blog page, then the normal page checkboxes will not work. Sorry.

That's too bad but thanks for the reply. So, if you were in my place, what do you think you might do?
