downloaded and installed the Display Widgets but it doesn't seem to work. I have wp2.9.1. Says that as long as the format is 2.8 it will work but not sure if 2.9 is formated like 2.8? Should this work with new version of WP?

Oh, forgot to say that I can see the contols for it in thte widgets control panel. I see all the options to select it to show on checked or hide on checked pages, but when I make my selections they diplay on each page anyway.

As long as you see the check boxes on the widgets, it should work. Are there specific check boxes your having trouble with? I did have to choose a hierarchy for what is displayed. For example, if archives is checked and a category page is not, although the category page is also an archives page, the category check boxes get precedence.
Anyway, so what specifically isn't working?

Wow weird stuff. I did not see that you could scroll down in the text box that has the pages or category options. I did that and I saw that there were multiple pages of what I currently have. When I first installed WP, since it was my first time I did a lot of messing around to get used to it and those pages which happen to be names the same are listed in there. So i just chose the second sent and boom it worked perfectly. So this is resolved.

Great! There is also a bug with WordPress 2.9 with pages showing up in the list that have been trashed. Sounds like that may be part of the problem too.
